New blog added to my “Frequent Haunts”

January 29, 2008

Very pleased to announce a new link in the “Frequent Haunts” links section today. I finally found a music blog that I can relate to - one that celebrates what is good on the radio and the charts. If you tire of the many indie music blogs, and want to catch some good tunes, please check out the “Viva la Mainstream” blog written by TJ O’Neill. Enjoy!

And now entering the arena wearing the red tights…

So what happens when you are a 2 time NCAA wrestling champ? Naturally you exchange all your real wresting skills to go to the WWE. Brock Lesnar had a short career in the WWE, promoted as “The Next Big Thing”. He is big and he quickly rose to the scripted top of the heap. Then one day he quit - to go try out for the NFL. Didn’t quite make it. So now we find out that he has been training for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Impressive in his one match so far that only lasted 86 seconds. His first real contest will come Feb. 2nd so we shall see what he can do.

Here is an early front runner for my favorite songs of 2008. I was searching around for a copy of Maroon 5’sWake Up Call” and was delighted to find a remix done by my man Mark Ronson. He has mixed the original with additional vocals from Mary J. Blige, some rhymes courtesy of Wale, and a little Motown in the back, and created a gem. So, with that, enjoy Mark Ronson’s version of “Wake Up Call”.
